Overview

GalpiDock is a Chrome/Whale browser extension that replaces the new tab page with a customizable dashboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is accessed, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data Collection

GalpiDock does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All user data remains locally on your device.

Browser APIs Used

GalpiDock uses the following Chrome APIs, all of which operate locally:

chrome.storage.local — Stores your widget settings, layout preferences, and memo content locally in your browser.
chrome.bookmarks — Reads and manages your bookmarks to display them in the bookmark widget.
chrome.history — Reads your browsing history to display recently visited sites.
chrome.topSites — Reads your most visited sites to display them as shortcuts.

Google Calendar Integration (Optional)

If you choose to connect Google Calendar:

GalpiDock uses chrome.identity to authenticate with your Google account via OAuth 2.0.
Calendar data is fetched directly from the Google Calendar API and cached locally for up to 5 minutes.
No calendar data is sent to any third-party server.
You can disconnect your Google account at any time from the calendar widget settings.

Weather Data (Optional)

If you enable the weather widget:

Your approximate location is detected via the browser's geolocation API or IP-based fallback.
Location data is sent only to OpenWeatherMap to retrieve weather information.
Weather data is cached locally for 10 minutes.

Data Storage

All settings, memos, and cached data are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). Nothing is transmitted to external servers owned or operated by GalpiDock.

Third-Party Services

Google Calendar API — Used only when you explicitly connect your Google account.
OpenWeatherMap API — Used only when the weather widget is enabled.

No other third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services are used.

Data Deletion

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. You can also reset your settings from the extension's settings panel at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
